Look Back: Celebrating Five Years of Snap's Law Enforcement Summit

January 30, 2025

Over the past five years, Snap’s U.S. Law Enforcement Summit has evolved into a key educational event for public safety professionals, providing vital information that can directly support their investigations.

Snap is deeply committed to helping ensure the safety of the Snapchat community, and our goal is to help protect Snapchatters from a range of potential online risks that span the digital ecosystem. A core part of this mission is our longstanding work with local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies to help bring criminals to justice.

The 2025 Law Enforcement Summit reinforced this mission through collaboration, transparency, and innovation. We’re grateful to every agency and participant who joined us this year — in the U.S., and now with our sister summit, around the world — and we look forward to continuing to lead on safety, including through our advocacy for comprehensive and effective age assurance standards.

Our Law Enforcement Summit by the Numbers

Over the last five years, more than 15,000 local, state, and federal officials viewed the summit to learn about Snap’s tools and processes. We see this, and all the other outreach to law enforcement we do throughout the year – which itself reaches thousands – as key to our work to help safeguard our community.

The 2025 summit highlighted Snap’s continued investments in teen safety, including product improvements to Family Center and introduced The Keys: A Guide to Digital Safety, an interactive course to educate teens and families about potential online risks and how to help protect themselves. It also included an in-depth case study which highlighted the importance of digital evidence to criminal investigations. This year we also launched our first international sister summit, expanding this event for international law enforcement.

Our law enforcement summits continue to strengthen trust between Snap and law enforcement, a foundation built on transparency, collaboration, and a mission to help keep Snapchatters safe.
